You know how England seemed to be showing some progress in their first game? Yeah, it's all gone now.
Sure, they were a bit unlucky with Rooney's free kick and impressive miss from a yard out. And of course with the referee's decision to not reward Diego Godin with a second yellow. But for all their effort, England could only hope to produce a moment of quality like that Cavani run and cross for Suarez, who easily evaded highly useless Phil Jagielka to nod beyond Hart.
That being said, 1-0 is a similar situation for both teams. England were facing this score against Italy and managed to equalize, while Uruguay had the lead before imploding against Costa Rica. Anything's possible.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to daydream for a few minutes about Chelsea buying Edinson Cavani two years ago. Or one year ago. Or one week ago. Or one day ago. Or today. Or tomorrow. Or next week. Or next month. Or before the start of the season...
Please?
