The Daily Hilario: Decima-ted

Your daily dose of off-topic shenanigans. And now the season's truly over.

Alex Livesey

Congrats to Real and their billion dollar collection of talent.  The worst part of that final yesterday was the inescapable feeling that it really should've been US who got decima-ted.  But that's football for ya.

Incidentally, Atlético lost via very much the same script as Chelsea did.  They set out to keep it tight, compact, and reasonable.  They grabbed the first goal, and all they had to do was hold out.  Once they couldn't and the opposition grabbed the equalizer, you always felt that the game was done.  And so it was.

Special shout out to Thibaut Courtois, who actually looked human in this one.  And Diego "Son of Mourinho" Simeone needs to settle down a bit.  And also not start some dude a week removed from a strained hamstring, horse placenta nonsense or not.

Lewis Baker scored on a penalty kick, as he and Ola Aina went the full 90.  Swifty played about an hour.  RLC unused on the bench.

From yesterday's game at the Toulon Tournament.  What is the Brazil keeper doing?  Sweet strike though.
