Chelsea vs. PSG: Preview, injuries, squad news, television, streaming, forecast, and more

Chelsea have some work to do in order to advance

Shaun Botterill

Chelsea will need a great performance tomorrow if they hope to advance in the Champions League. If the Blues can keep a clean sheet, any victory by two goals or more will see them through to the semis. If PSG manage a single goal, Chelsea need three to force extra time, and four to win without penalties. Should the French side score two or more tomorrow, nothing short of a three goal margin will see Chelsea advance.

Much of the pre-match talk will likely focus on the comeback against Napoli during our Champions League winning campaign, but this PSG side are a far more talented squad than that Napoli group was. That said, they don't have a particularly scary defensive unit and they have a midfield that looked extremely shaky last week, so an early Chelsea goal could go a long way toward making this fixture memorable. Here's hoping...

Opponent: Paris Saint Germain

Date and time: Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 19:45 BST (2:45 pm ET, 11:45 am PT, 00:15 on April 9 IST)

Venue: Stamford Bridge, London, England

Forecast: Springlike temperatures during the day that will drop as the sun sets, with a 20% chance of rain.

Chelsea squad news: Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah will both miss due to being cup tied. Ramires will be unavailable because he's suspended, while Samuel Eto'o is not fully fit, but might be asked to play anyway.

PSG squad news: PSG will be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic tomorrow, but have a fully fit squad aside from the Swede. Having all but clinched the Ligue 1 title already, Laurent Blanc was able to rest the majority of his starters ahead of Tuesday's trip to London. That match also marked the return of right back Gregory Van der Wiel.

Television and streaming: UK viewers will have their choice of ITV 1, UTV, or STV Scotland. In the US, the game can be found on FS1 and Fox Sports 2 Go. Indian fans can tune into Ten Sports Live, Ten HD, and Ten Action. Chelsea TV will have streaming audio, and fans from around the globe can check this link for listings.
