Former Blue hospitalised after nightclub shooting

Scary stuff from Istanbul: Former Chelsea man Gokhan Tore, who left Stamford Bridge for the Bundesliga in 2011 and now plays for Besiktas on loan from Rubin Kazan, has been hospitalised after receiving a gunshot wound to the shoulder at a nightclub following his game against Fenerbahce on Sunday.

The club has confirmed that Tore is in hospital for observation (which would imply that the injury isn't hugely serious) and claims that five others were injured in the attack, which occurred while Tore was out with his teammates. Although details are obviously sketchy at this point, it does not appear that the shooting was in any way targetted towards Tore or Besiktas' squad. Instead, the 22-year-old appears to have been the victim of some awfully bad luck.

Although it's been some time since he was part of the Chelsea FC family, I still have nothing but good wishes for Tore, and hopefully he makes a rapid and full recovery. Get well soon, man.
