Well this is interesting. We've been sweating on the fitness of Eden Hazard for some time now -- that win against Paris Saint-Germain came at a price -- but the Belgian turns out not to be the main fitness issue facing Chelsea ahead of our key match against Atletico Madrid. Hazard and Petr Cech, who missed the debacle at the weekend with a virus, are both in the squad travelling to Spain. But there's a big name out regardless:
Samuel Eto'o will not arrive in Madrid with Chelsea - Cech and Hazard have travelled #CFC

No word yet on the reason, although the safe bet is an injury of unspecified severity. And there's also no word on whether Cech and Hazard are fit enough to play -- merely travelling doesn't mean that they're capable of starting. But with Eto'o definitely out, it looks like it's Fernando Torres' chance to show off in front of his former team. He had a pretty good moment the last time Chelsea played in Spain; let's hope for a repeat.
