The Daily Hilario: Football drought, day 2

Your daily dose of off-topic shenanigans. Now with extra Paulo Ferreira.

Mike Hewitt

Though I guess it's not a catastrophic drought as there's apparently a charity/exhibition match entitled Ronaldo, Zidane, and Friends vs. Young Boys. How unfair; those young boys don't stand a chance!

The Blackhawks played hockey in a snowstorm and it was awesome | SB Nation
A fairly loose definition of awesome, I'm sure. But I kind of wish I could've been there to drink snow-beer and get frostbite on my toes.

The USMNT will wear polo/golf shirts in Brazil | SB Nation
As discussed a bit in the comments yesterday, Nike dropped the ball with these after the amazing anniversary shirts (which hopefully will be sold off at a discount so I can grab one). I mean, they're "ok" but a definite disappointment over the outgoing crop.

And speaking of the USMNT, the friendly against Ukraine may or may not still go ahead | Stars and Stripes FC
Sorry, football only stops violence when Didier Drogba is involved. Maybe it's best to just call this one off, no?

And speaking of politics, here's our very own Jake Cohen with something a bit more political | A Football Report
Remember when Greenpeace interrupted the CL match in Basel with a giant protest banner against Gazprom? Jake investigates in a five-part series. It's really good - though obviously outside the purview of WAGNH - if you're interested.

19.00: Match Against Poverty 2014: Ronaldo, Zidane, and Friends vs. BSC Young Boys and Friends (in the US, this will be on beIN Sports; most of the proceeds are to benefit the victims of Typhoon Haiyan; here's a list of the expected "Friends" for Ronaldo & Co - including Chelsea boys Belletti, Deco, Gullit, Makélélé, and the one and the only PAULO FERREIRA)
