A week ago, we were celebrating a night of fourteen stars. Today, we are burning them all at the stakes. Things move fast in the world of football.
It's hard to label any of Saturday's individual performances as "good." Chelsea were beaten in all phases and all aspects that mattered. And despite Petr Cech being partially at fault for the conceded goal - if he stays on his line, he probably makes the save; if the communication is better, Terry perhaps leaves it - were it not for him, the scoreline would've been even more embarrassing.
This is the fifth time Cech has won the player ratings vote. Only once did his man of the match efforts come in a Chelsea win and that was in the second match of the season.

Fresh off a fantastic man of the match performance against Arsenal, Schurrle was making his fifth start in the last seven matches.
Early on, he played up to his recent form and perhaps on another day he gets luckier at the far post from Cesar Azpilicueta's cross and the day unfolds in a very different manner.
Instead, Schurrle's influence faded after the open, though perhaps it was harsh that he, instead of Fernando Torres made way for Demba Ba.

It would've been nicer if Salah's first ever appearance on the WAGNH community player ratings podium could've come in better circumstances. As it is, it comes as a recognition for the tiny bit of purpose he seemed to inject into our attack when he came on for the useless Frank Lampard.
Salah may not have a large role to play this season or next or perhaps ever, but with his pace, he should always be at least a useful impact substitute for us.
