The Daily Hilario: A weekend to remember

As I sit down with my savory Petrus Aged Red this evening, I come to reflect on the amazingness of the weekend that was. 6-0, ladies & gentlemen. Six. Nil. Plus March Madness. Plus, on the homefront, $50 steaks and Napa Valley wines. Capped off by an emphatic, Liverpool-style, 6-3 win for my Sunday League team with yours truly getting on the scoresheet with a headed goal from a corner.

Oh, and did I mention the 6-0? Celebrate good times! Too bad we have to wait until next weekend for the next match.

The Sweet Sixteen is set | SB Nation
The lowest seeds remaining are the two #11s in Dayton and Tennessee. Wichita State became the first #1 to get eliminated, setting all mid-majors back to pre-Gonzaga times (not really). Gonzaga themselves got run over by the freight train that is the 'Zona D. Three #2 seeds survive as well with Villanova the only exception. Iowa State is the only #3 seed left. Meanwhile, it pays to be a #4 seed with all four making it into the second weekend. We are guaranteed at least one double-digit seed in the Elite Eight: the winner of #10 Stanford vs. #11 Tennessee. The SEC is the only perfect conference with all 3 bids still in the hunt. The Pac-12 and the Big Ten also have 3 left though they both started with 6. Perennially overrated ACC & Big East have 1 of 10 total left. My entirely non-adventurous Final Four prediction of Florida, Virginia, Arizona, and Louisville remains alive and kicking.

It's back to a three-horse race in Spain - three teams separated by a single point - as Barca score a controversial win in Madrid. While the second half was a bit of a farce, the first 45 minutes were amazing entertainment.
