Would someone please just give this man a ball to chase already?

Imma gonna get myself a big shaggy puppydog and Imma gonna name him Sideshow.

Play? PLAAAAY!!! Play, play play, play, play, play! I imagine that's what happens inside David Luiz's brain every time he's in close proximity to a football pitch.

I can play football again! I love to play football! Yey, football! BALL!? PLAY? Plaaaayyyyyy...

Sidelined for most of the last month with groin problems, David Luiz says he's fully fit and ready to go. He was almost ready to come back two weeks ago, only to aggravate the injury while away with the Brazil national football team. He made the bench on Tuesday against Galatasaray and may just be in line for a start against Arsenal. It may not be the worst idea to get him out there: Chelsea have not lost in the league when Sideshow has played since early November's 2-0 defeat away to Newcastle (eight wins in 8(2) appearances).

It's been a bit of a stop-start season for David. After helping Brazil to Confederations Cup glory in the summer, he didn't reestablish himself in our lineup until October. A lackluster performance in the aforementioned Newcastle loss, soon after combined with a several weeks-long knee injury kept him out until mid-December. He then played in nine of the next ten league matches for which he was available before succumbing to this latest injury. None of this has helped stem the tide of continuous, swirling transfer rumors about his impending doom and exit for Spanish or French shores.

With his latest injury problems behind him, hopefully we can not only put those rumors to rest, but reestablish him as a key part of the rotation, be that in defense or midfield. We're going to need him.
