We've spent the last few days getting hints from the manager that we're going to embark on something of a summer shopping spree, so naturally he's thrown some cold water over that little idea in his latest round of quotes:
I see this summer as a very quiet summer for me and for the club: finish this season, work a couple of weeks to prepare the details of pre-season, one, maximum two signings and one or two to leave because they want to play more. I see a very quiet and calm summer.

One or two in, one or two out? Well frankly that sounds boring, although I'd imagine that the two incomings will be fairly important signings. We know that we're going in for a big-name striker (unless Mourinho is just amusing himself by telling us to wait until summer and bring Romelu Lukaku back, in which case, well played), and I'd guess that the only other place that will need reinforcing is central midfield.
Bear in mind, of course, that we were supposed to have a quiet winter before we ended up helping Manchester United break their transfer record last week, so I'm not entirely sure whether I trust anything Mourinho says about transfers at this point. But if he's being honest, are we all ok with there only being small changes for next season?
