Chelsea entered Wednesday's match sitting atop the Premier League table, while Spurs were comfortably in their usual home around the middle. For the first 15 minutes of Wednesday evening's match, you'd have been hard pressed to tell that, but several Spursy minutes later the Blues were safely out in front.
The first goal was a beauty, in which Eden Hazard played a gorgeous one-two with Didier Drogba before poking the ball home. He was helped by the entire Spurs defense, which simply sat around and watched it happen without doing anything about it. The second came down to an unforgivable error by Hugo Lloris, who kept the defense from Spursing up again by passing the ball to Chelsea himself. Drogba finished the chance, and this one was comfortably Chelsea's by the midway point of the first half.
Chelsea still have to see this one out, but things look good at the halftime break with a 2-0 lead at home. Let's try to get an early one to put this one to bed though, so that we can give our top players a little bit of rest.
