Southampton vs. Chelsea: Second half thread

A sleepy first five minutes gave way to a threatening five minutes or so, during which Chelsea looked like grabbing the early lead.  But for all our good play down the flanks and all our efforts at getting in-behind the fullbacks, we've somehow contrived to not produce a final ball.  The rest of the half played out similar fashion, the Blues dominating possession and threatening to create something telling but failing to even take a shot, and Southampton hitting back on the counter.

It was during one of those counters that John Terry had a bit of a mental short-circuit, completely blew the offside trap, and allowed Seydou Mane to waltz in on Courtois.  A smart, early chipped finish left the Chelsea keeper no chance and Southampton lead 1-0 into the break.

Saints have yet to lose a single point from winning positions; that'll have to change if we're to get anything out of this game.  And unless we do, we could easily find ourselves in second place once the day's done.  Sooo...let's get on with it and be better.

UP THE BLUES!
