Since signing for Chelsea during the summer of 2013, Marco van Ginkel has had a rough go of things with injuries. He missed the bulk of last season after a major knee injury, forcing him to spend the 2014/15 season on loan with AC Milan as he recovers. After his first start, he suffered an injury which caused him to miss some time, and now that he's finally fully fit again and beginning to break into the midfield rotation, it looks as if Van Ginkel will be on the shelf again.
The Italian press is reporting that Van Ginkel has suffered a sprained ankle in Milan training, and will be out of action for the remainder of 2014. Unfortunately, that includes a pair of marquee matches with Roma and Rafa Benitez's Napoli side.
More annoyingly, rumors making the rounds suggest Van Ginkel was injured by an overzealous teammate:
Van Ginkel's injury was caused by a bad challenge from Muntari during the training.

Congratulations, Sulley Muntari, you've made the naughty list just in time.
