Roy Hodgson named his 25-man England squad ahead of the next round of international fixtures, and as has been the case lately, Chelsea have just a single player on Hodgson's squad. That player would be center back Gary Cahill, who has become a regular starter for his national side, and is likely to see quite a bit of action over the break. Please don't get injured, Gary.
There were several surprises in this latest selection, including a debut for Saido Berahino and an England return for Stuart Downing. The full squad selected by Hodgson is as follows:
Goalkeepers
Fraser Forster, Ben Foster, Joe Hart
Defenders
Leighton Baines, Gary Cahill, Calum Chambers, Nathaniel Clyne, Kieran Gibbs, Phil Jagielka, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling
Midfielders
Ross Barkley, Michael Carrick, Stewart Downing, Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Andros Townsend, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott
Forwards
Rickie Lambert, Wayne Rooney, Daniel Welbeck, Saido Berahino
