After the two-week international break, several Chelsea players were expected to be quite a bit healthier than they were the last time the Blues took the pitch. On Friday, Jose Mourinho confirmed as much, updating the status of four playerswho were dealing with knocks of late:
"Diego Costa is totally recovered, the same with Schurrle. Fabregas hopefully will be fit, Ramires can play, his injury is improving, but he is not in very good condition."
"Costa has spent the last two weeks with the Chelsea physio, we feel he is free of all those injuries."
Presumably, this means that both Costa and Schurrle will be operating restriction free, while Fabregas and Ramires could be treated with a bit more caution. I'd actually be a bit surprised to see Ramires used in this one, though this is exactly the sort of game I'd think Fabregas would start. After all, West Brom seem somewhat likely to sit deep and defend, and Cesc is one of Chelsea's best weapons to break that sort of defending down.
Regardless of who takes the pitch on Saturday, it's good to see the Blues becoming relatively injury free. With the crowded fixture list over the next month and a half, it's a good time to be healthy.
