Azpilicueta rubbishes claims of Mourinho negative influence regarding the Spanish national team

Even though they both stayed home to rehabilitate their various injuries, Diego Costa and Cesc Fàbregas still managed to remain the talk of the Spanish national team, largely thanks to unfounded claims of a lack of commitment and negative influence form the dastardly Gargamel Mourinho.  And that's despite Spain's doctors agreeing with Chelsea's doctors and confirming Cesc's injuries (in person, even!) and Costa's need for a rest.

Naturally, following their 1-0 friendly loss to defending World Champions Germany, our lone remaining representative in the Spanish side was asked about this whole situation.

"No [Mourinho didn't pressure me]. He knows that I'm always thrilled to come play for Spain. When the squad is announced, I'm overjoyed and when I'm with Chelsea, I give my all."

"I don't know anything [about Cesc or Costa] and I'm speaking for myself. It's a controversial topic, everyone has their own thoughts. What I see is that they've always shown the utmost commitment whenever they've been here."

In other words, can we get back to proper football yet?
