Diego Costa has been nominated for the 2014 Puskas Award, awarded to the scorer of the best goal between October 3, 2013 and September 26, 2014. There are ten nominees for this year's award, including Costa's fantastic bicycle. FIFA gives you a chance to vote for the goal you feel is most deserving on their website.
I'd be surprised if Costa actually ends up winning the Puskas, but given how ridiculous most FIFA awards are anyway (Gerard Pique anyone?), I really don't care all that much. Costa's goal was pretty nice, though certainly not the best scored in the ridiculous period that FIFA are looking at*.
*Honestly, who but FIFA would be so incompetent to use October 3 - September 26 as their timeframe? Is it really that hard to come up with less ridiculous dates?
All of that said, here's hoping he gets nominated again next year, for something he did in Chelsea blue.
