On loan fullback Wallace Oliviera dos Santos suffered a hand injury over the weekend, but after receiving treatment on the sideline that included having his hand wrapped, was able to return to the pitch without trouble in Vitesse's 2-2 draw with NAC Breda. After further testing on the injury, it appears that there was a bit more damage than originally expected.
According to reports n the Netherlands, Wallace spent Monday having scans on the hand, which turned up a fracture. The hand was then placed in a cast, to protect it from further damage.
As Wallace is a fullback, having the full use of his hands really isn't all that crucial to his job performance. As long as there is no real risk of doing further damage to the hand, he should be able to play with the cast on relatively soon. He won't be available for Tuesdays' cup match, but it doesn't sound like he'll miss any more time than that due to the injury.
Get well soon Wallace, it's been fun seeing you actually get on the pitch this season.
