Report: Diego Costa set to start on Sunday against Manchester United

At this point, the surprising outcome might actually be if Diego Costa doesn't start against Manchester United.

Here's the Daily Mail with what may be the most closely followed pre-match scoop since Ryan Bertrand's start in the Champions League final two and a half years ago.

Diego Costa is expected to start for Chelsea at Manchester United on Sunday...

Mourinho had said Costa would have to train with the team and show no ill effects from his recent health scares if he was to start - and the Premier League's leading goalscorer seems to have done enough to convince Mourinho he can play.

Obviously this may be all speculation on Rob Draper's part (hey, where did my Neil Ashton go?), but the circumstantial evidence fits the way this whole Diego Costa injury story had been trending lately.  There are some murmurs on Twitter that could be seen as supporting evidence as well, but those may actually take away from the validity of our case, so let's just let them be.

In any case, with Falcao and Costa having swapped injury doubts since Friday, it seems that in the battle of ex-Atlético Madrid strikers, the pre-match round may just end up being scored a win for Chelsea.  A good start, then.
