Chelsea vs. Maribor: Confirmed lineups and discussion

Mike Hewitt

Chelsea will play their third game of the group stage tonight at Stamford Bridge, and a win would see them in a commanding position atop the group. On paper, this should be the easiest tie of this season's competition, and it's one that Chelsea fans everywhere will be expecting to win fairly easily.

Jose Mourinho isn't taking any chances in this one, opting for a strong lineup to get the job done. There's a few youngsters on the bench if the opportunity for a cameo arises, but at least to start, it will be a close to first choice unit out there for the Blues. Here's who Mourinho has selected, according to Jamie Reid:

Chelsea XI: Cech, Ivanović, Zouma, Terry, Luis, Matic, Fabregas, Hazard, Oscar , Willian, Rémy

Chelsea bench: Courtois, Drogba, Salah, Cahill, Azpilicueta, Aké, Solanke

So Cech will be cup-tied to Chelsea after this one, and Kurt Zouma gets a Champions League start. We could also see cameos for Dom Solanke and Nathan Ake if things go well, which we obviously hope that they do.

As always, please keep things civil and don't link or direct to illegal streams of the match.
