Juan Mata: Saying goodbye

There's anger and grief amongst the Chelsea supporters that the club has allowed two-time player of the year Juan Mata to join Manchester United mid-season. That's understandable -- even Jose Mourinho has acknowledged that nobody (except Mata and United fans) is in a good mood over it. The club's being attacked. Mata himself is being attacked. Supporters are yelling at each other.

To which I say: Enough.

Mata was a brilliant player for us for two full season, one of which might very well be the greatest in our history. No matter how emotional it gets, it's not right that we say goodbye in anger. Instead, let's appreciate a gentleman and a special talent and what he did for the club and the fans in the too-brief time he was here. If a picture is worth a thousand words, that video is worth several million, and only Juan

Juan, this is goodbye. It's been great -- thank you for everything, and good luck in the future.
