There was a certain air of inevitability around this, wasn't there?
Almost as confusing as that time when he was made captain of Zulte Waregem for about 27 minutes, Thorgan Hazard has switched loan destinations from one Belgian club to another, trading the feel-good success of Essevee for the Belgian-Bayern that is Anderlecht.
Thorgan #Hazard will join Anderlecht on a loan. #RSCA reached an agreement with #CFC & Z.Waregem, where he played 1,5 season.

What for? Who knows. Well, Hazard knows and presumably his agent does, too. But beyond that, it's a headscratcher.
Just last week, Zulte Waregem released a strongly worded statement deploring the continuing commotion around this whole situation and reiterating that Thorgan remains very much an Essevee player as per the original agreement with Chelsea. Today's development then, as reported by Terreur above and most other news outlets in Belgium, certainly does not put either player or Chelsea in a good light.
That being said, all's fair in love and sports and if Hazard continues to be the best player in the Belgian league - and there's no reason to think he won't - we will soon forget about this episode and go back to looking forward to him one day taking the pitch with his older brother in Chelsea blue.
UPDATE: Zulte Weregem disagree!
