Chelsea have just confirmed that Nathaniel Chalobah will be returning to the Championship, sending him to Middlesbrough for the remainder of the season. Chalobah and Kenneth Omeruo will give the Championship side a much needed injection of high-ceilinged talent, and will hopefully lead a push toward the promotion playoff places.
For Chelsea, the logic behind this move is very clear. Chalobah didn't play much while on loan at Forest, but could walk into a starting role with Boro as soon as this weekend. How he performs will be worth watching, as he was extrememly impressive with a regular role last season.
Boro currently sit 13th in the CHampionship table, though they are only six points behind the final promotion playoff place. Here's hoping the additions of Chalobah and Omeruo help them find their way into those places, and I'd doubt Chalobah would be too upset if they did so at the expense of Nottingham Forest.
