The Daily Hilario: Premier League Matchday 21, NFL Playoffs

Your daily dose of off-topic shenanigans. Welcome to the new tradition.

Here comes the baby stiff-arm.

Please note the new category: Bobby Ramblings. Well done, 'Collun.'

It's a big day today with a full slate of Premier League action (feels like it's been a while, doesn't it?), a huge game in Spain, and of course the NFL playoffs beginning for realsies. DPeezy's Seahawks play in the afternoon, but more on that later.

In other news...

Messi not 100% for top-of-the-table clash | Reuters
The little guy made his injury return midweek, but Gerardo Martino has doubts whether Messi can start, let alone go the full 90 today. I mean, not that Thibaut Courtois needs any help, but not having to face Messi for the entire match can only improve Atletico's chances of winning.

Your brutal ski jumping crash video of the day | SB Nation
Ski jumping is a spectacular sport to watch. This one however is spectacular in all the wrong ways. 2006 Olympic champ Thomas Morgenstern somehow made it through without any critical injuries, fortunately.

Merry Christmas, here's a kick to the shin! | Grantland, Deadspin
Yes, I know the Deadspin link (if you actually followed it) isn't about Chelsea, but rather the Seahawks (who had the NFL's best defense). Yet, they do have a common theme: sometimes, the best defense is fouling. High pressure, lots of fouls. Not too much, but certainly not too little. Just find the limit... and then try to push beyond it just a little bit. They're not going to call everything.
