Will the third time be the charm for Josh McEachran? After not-hugely-successful loan spells at first Swansea City and then Middlesbrough, the 20-year old midfielder is off to join Gianfranco Zola at Watford. Josh is the second loanee to go out in two days, with Nathaniel Chalobah's switch to Nottingham Forest confirmed on Thursday, and he's got quite a lot to prove this season.
Fortunately, he's in a place to show his stuff. Zola showed that he's willing to give the youth a chance with his handling of Chalobah last season, and it's not entirely out of the question that McEachran emerges from this loan with his stock having gone way, way up. That'll take a lot of hard work, however -- there's plenty to be done on the defensive side of the game, and considering his obvious skill McEachran could stand to be a little more assertive on the ball as well.
Still, Zola's shown himself to be just the man to help out our young midfielders. Good luck to Josh with the Hornets -- he'll have at least half a season to make an impact.
