Just when it seemed that the Demba Ba-to-Arsenal deal was sealed, Sky Sports News have thrown a rather large spanner into the works by reporting that the Gunners' North London rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, have also entered the race for the Senegalese striker. Before you get too excited about a transfer war between the two, Sky have also reported that Chelsea have rejected both bids, and have agreed a deal with a third, "unnamed" club. It remains to be seen which that is, but, if true, it should be confirmed in the near future. As a clue to the identity of the club, it was reported that Ba has a preference for a club with Champions League football this season. No matter who they are, it's looking very likely that the Chelsea No. 19 shirt will become vacant by the end of today.
UPDATE: The "unnamed club" may actually be Everton, read more at Royal Blue Mersey.
