Report: Demba Ba passes Arsenal medical

According to MARCA, Chelsea's recently-arrived yet surplus-to-requirements Senegalese striker has passed his Arsenal medical, having been linked with a move away since the Blues signed Samuel Eto'o from Anzhi.

According to Spanish paper MARCA*, who are quoting La Gazzetta dello Sport, Chelsea striker an Arsenal target Demba Ba has passed his medical at the North London club ahead of a potential move on Transfer Deadline Day. There is nothing as yet to suggest the deal has been agreed or is even imminent, but having had a medical suggests the two clubs aren't miles apart and that a deal is likely to be done by the end of today, whether as a loan or a permanent transfer. It's not time to get excited just yet, but this is very much a "watch this space" situation. Given that Samuel Eto'o's arrival will severely-curtail his playing time at Chelsea this season, it would be no surprise to see him leave today. I think we all just hope it's a good deal for the Blues.
