Report: Moses loan to cost Liverpool £1.5m

Stanley Chou

We're all but certain that Liverpool have won the Victor Moses chase after the young Nigeria winger was spotted at Anfield during the match against Manchester United, a 1-0 win for the hosts, and now we have an idea how what we're getting back for him. According to the Mail, Chelsea are getting £1.5 million in exchange for sending Moses out on a season-long loan.

That's not bad at all. Moses arrived from Wigan a year ago for somewhere around £9 million, and his wages are pretty reasonable, so the Blues might actually be making a profit on him this season. Liverpool probably aren't close enough to the Blues for us to be worried about strengthening them (it's nice that they're taking points off teams like United, though), and if Moses can get significant playing time it's good for everyone.

I'm not entirely sure how Brendan Rodgers is planning on using Moses -- Liverpool's first-choice front three probably looks something like Philippe Coutinho-Luis Suarez-Daniel Sturridge -- but he's managed to persuade the 22-year-old to sign up so he must have something good planned.

Just waiting for official confirmation now.
