Chelsea vs. FC Basel, Champions League: Lineups & Game Thread

Tuesday/Wednesday nights are so much better than Thursday nights!  This; THIS is how it should be.  Now I'm excited.

And since it's "just" FC Basel, let's score a few.  One thing I learned today is that Chelsea are averaging the second highest amount of shots through the first four matches of the Premier League season (17, behind Spurs at 19).  Let's make those count a little bit better today, shall we?

To provide further inspiration, earlier today, Chelsea U19 kicked off their UEFA Youth League campaign with a 4-0 romp over their Swiss U19 counterparts.  Goals from Islam Feruz, Alex Kiwomya, and John Swift, along with an own goal from Basel as well.  Well done!

Chelsea starting lineup (4-3-3):
Petr Cech | Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic | Frank Lampard, Marco van Ginkel, Oscar | Eden Hazard, Samuel Eto'o, Willian

Substitutes from: Mark Schwarzer, John Terry, Cesar Azpilicueta, John Obi Mikel, Kevin De Bruyne, Juan Mata, Demba Ba

FC Basel starting lineup (4-4-2):
Yann Sommer | Behrang Safari, Ivan Ivanov, Fabian Schar, Kay Voser | Valentin Stocker, Marcelo Diaz, Fabian Frei, Mohamed Salah | Streller, Giovanni Sio

Substitutes from: Germano Vailati, Philipp Degen, Arlind Ajeti, David Degen, Matias Delgado, Gaston Sauro, Taulant Xhaka

---

I'm calling this a 4-3-3, but it could be any number of combinations in between the defensive line and Samuel Eto'o.
