Chelsea vs. Norwich City, U21 Premier League: Lineups & Open Thread

Scott Heavey

After a similarly lengthy break as the seniors, the Chelsea youth are back in action tonight as they take on Norwich City at Aldershot.  You may remember Norwich from last season's FA Youth Cup final, where they pulled off the upset over Chelsea U18.  Many of those some kids will be involved on both sides today, which should add extra incentive and intensity.

The U21 side have been great entertainment value so far:  their three matches have produced 17 total goals.  A disappointing 2-4 loss to Spurs in the first match was followed by 4-1 and 5-1 beat-downs of Southampton and Leicester, respectively.  Isaiah Brown (4 goals) and Islam Feruz (3 goals) have paced the attack, while Nathan Ake, Andreas Christensen, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek have provided strength and control in defense and midfield.

Chelsea U21 starting lineup (4-3-3?):
Jamal Blackman | Adam Nditi, Nathan Ake, Andreas Christensen, Isak Ssewankambo | Josh McEachran, John Swift, Billy Clifford | Islam Feruz, Isaiah Brown, Lewis Baker

Substitutes from: Mitchell Beeney, Alex Davey, Alex Kiwomya, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Dion Conroy

Norwich City U21 starting lineup (4-4-2):
Remi Matthews | Harry Toffolo, Adel Gafaiti, Kyle McFadden, Ewan McNeil | Josh Murphy, Harvey Hodd, Cameron McGeehan, Jacob Murphy | Jamar Loza, Reece Hall-Johnson

Substitutes from: Harry Barker, Liam Priestley, Cameron Norman, Ben Wyatt

Coverage starts at the top of the hour on Chelsea TV.
