Tuesday Internationals Open Thread - Lampard goes for his 100th; Cech hopes to stay in the race for 2014

Clive Rose

International breaks are boring. They are slightly less boring when we can at least entertain ourselves with the international matches themselves. They are almost not boring when said international matches have large implications about various nations' World Cup fates.

The two big ones as far as most of us are concerned are Ukraine vs. England (2:45pm EDT; Gol TV) - wherein England hope to grab hold of their qualifying group and Chelsea's number eight becomes England's centurion number eight - and USA vs. Mexico (8pm EDT; ESPN) - wherein the Von Trapps look to punch their ticket to Brazil 2014 and continue heaping misery onto their bitter rivals.

Elsewhere, my homies from Slovakia look for a repeat of Friday's excellent performance in Bosnia, while the Czechs and the Hungarians hope to turn their fortunes around as they take on Italy and Estonia, respectively. With Belgium not playing, there are fewer Chelsea players involved today than normal: here's the full list.

Discuss.
