Chelsea FC confirm Christian Atsu transfer, loan to Vitesse

The Ghanaian has signed a five-year contract, and will head to the Eredivisie for the 2013/14 season

The player tweeted confirmation of his move to Chelsea FC, and today the club made it official. Christian Atsu has signed a five-year deal with the Blues, and will be spending the season away from Stamford Bridge:

The 21-year-old Ghana international, who has signed a five-year contract, will be joining Vitesse Arnhem on loan for the season.

That makes five Chelsea players at Vitesse this season, although Atsu will almost certainly not be taking part in today's game. The Chelsea loanees take on AZ about 30 minutes before the North London derby kicks off.

Atsu can play in several attacking roles, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see all three Chelsea attackers on the pitch at the same time fairly often. It will certainly be interesting to watch where he plays, and to see how he continues to develop.
