Victor Moses has had a fairly impressive preseason. Eager to put his injury troubles that slowed him at the end of last season behind him and raise up his game amid all the upgrades made to the Chelsea attacking band, he's looked fit, willing, and motivated to prove himself for the new manager.

So far, it's working.

"Victor has been terrific. He is another one who is working very hard. He hasn’t missed a single minute of a training session."

Moses arrived almost as an afterthought bargain-buy at the end of last summer's transfer window, then spent most of the season as fourth fiddle behind the Triumvirate of Hazard-Mata-Oscar. With the arrivals of André Schürrle and Kevin De Bruyne potentially knocking him even further down the pecking order, it's fantastic to see that young Moses is willing to put in the necessary hard work to fight for his place. Actions, not words!

While we shoudn't be expecting the 22-year-old to get the majority of starts, there is no reason to think that he wouldn't have plenty of opportunities to show us his wing-play skills and continue his habit of scoring goals in cup competitions.

"I hope to play 60 matches, so where I maybe won’t use different teams, we will use rotation of players that’s for sure."

"I think Victor is a very good option for us. In Victor’s position we have Hazard, De Bruyne, Schürrle – it’s a position where a coach can make a change during a match and give new life and fresh blood to the team. He is a player who makes the squad stronger and gives us options."

Moses has been involved in three of the four goals scored by Chelsea so far in the International Champions Cup and has started two of the last three preseason matches overall. Remember those rubbish rumors about Roberto Martinez coming back for him and whisking him away to Everton? Those we pretty silly indeed.
