Bayern Munich vs. Chelsea, UEFA Super Cup: Lineups

Christof Koepsel

Last time we played these guys it ended up being a pretty good day, so let's see if we can't get some of that happy feeling back, shall we? Reminder: This was the best team in Europe last season and they're very good. Also, this is a friendly that we get paid a lot of money to participate in. Try not to freak out too much if things don't go well.

Chelsea starting lineup: Petr Cech; Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic; Frank Lampard, Ramires; Eden Hazard, Oscar, Andre Schurrle; Fernando Torres.

Substitutes from: Mark Schwarzer, John Terry, Cesar Azpilicueta, Michael Essien, John Obi Mikel, Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku.

Bayern Munich starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Manuel Neuer; Philipp Lahm, Dante, Jerome Boateng, Rafinha; David Alaba, Toni Kroos; Franck Ribery, Thomas Mueller, Arjen Robben; Mario Mandzukic.

OR MAYBE (4-3-3): Neuer; Alaba, Dante, Boateng, Rafinha; Lahm, Kroos, Mueller; Ribery, Mandzukic, Robben.

Substitutes from: Tom Starke, Daniel van Buyten, Javi Martinez, Xherdan Shaqiri, Claudio Pizarro, Mario Gotze, Diego Contento.

That's a very wild guess as to Bayern's lineup, because Pep Guardiola appears to have access to exactly zero midfielders. It'll be like playing United all over again.
