The youngster will be under contract with the Blues until 2018.

Nathaniel Chalobah has put pen to paper at Chelsea today, inking a new five-year contract that will see him remain at the club until 2018. There is no word on what he'll be paid, but as a youngster yet to make his debut, it probably won't be anything substantial.

Nathaniel had the following to say after signing his new deal:

'It is great for me that Chelsea are willing to give me such a long contract, it is a big confidence boost.  I think I have developed a lot as a player but I know I must continue to improve to earn a place in the Chelsea team and with my future settled, I can concentrate on doing that.'

It's great to see Chalobah extend his deal, and there is now little doubt he'll eventually be part of the Chelsea first team squad. It will still be interesting to see where he ends up spending this season, but with his Chelsea future sorted, we will probably find out in the next several days.
