Chelsea drawn with Schalke 04, FC Basel, and Steaua Bucharest for 2013/14 Champions League group stage

The UEFA Champions League group stage draw for the 2013/14 season has now been completed, and Chelsea now know the three clubs that they'll be competing against to reach the knockout stages. Chelsea were drawn into Group E, and their three opponents include Schalke 04, FC Basel, and Steaua Bucharest.

While the specific fixtures have not yet been announced, the basic UEFA schedule looks like this:

Matchday 1: September 17-18, 2013

Matchday 2: October 1-2, 2013

Matchday 3: October 22-23, 2013

Matchday 4: November 5-6, 2013

Matchday 5: November 26-27, 2013

Matchday 6: December 10-11, 2013

Chelsea will play each of the opponents home and away, and 13 points will mathematically assure advancement. We'll have a bit more on each of the clubs drawn today at a later time.
