Watch: The under 21s lose 4-2 against Tottenham Hotspur

Chelsea's under-21 side didn't get the season to the best start, getting rather thoroughly beaten by a very good Tottenham Hotspur side. The highlights are worth a watch, although probably not for happy reasons -- the Blues were disorganised and imploded after going 1-0 up and losing Josh McEachran to an ankle injury. Some of the defending towards the end of the first half is instructive simply because it's literally the opposite of what you're supposed to be doing. Might be that Nathan Ake and Nathaniel Chalobah have been spending too much time in midfield.

There are some positive moments too. Izzy Brown grabbed a goal. Joshy's penalty was well-taken. But yeah, all in all, there's plenty of work to be done. On the positive side, though, there's enough talent in the squad and the will to succeed that I'm sure said work will end up happening. Spurs are very good, so don't get disheartened with the youngsters just yet.
