The Thorgan Hazard is/isn't captain of Zulte Waregem saga continues to roll on. To recap, the club took the bizarre step of stripping Davy de Fauw of the captaincy and handed it -- for reasons that weren't clear at the time -- to Hazard, who is (obviously) a loanee. That a very young loanee was made the captain of the side at all was strange enough, but the story didn't end there, because the Zulte players were apparently pissed off about the whole affair and made their annoyance publicly known.
The club's response was to do a take-backsie, restoring de Fauw, but Zulte is now in enough turmoil that CEO Patrick Decuyper has been forced to resign. Things really should have ended with that, because the saga was pretty embarrassing for Hazard. It turns out agent John Bico isn't going to let that happen -- now it looks as though he's publicly blaming the manager for allowing the situation to develop.
What would be really super nice right now is to pretend that this never happened, but as long as Bico's being defensive over this it's going to remain an issue. Why is Thorgan Hazard employing a man who's picking fights with his manager? This is so silly.
