Milan Lalkovic signs contract extension

Dean Mouhtaropoulos

Not exactly the biggest transfer news (but the club just confirmed the Marco van Ginkel deal; what more do you want today?), but news nonetheless:

Now, Milan Lalkovic moght be better known as slightly surreal, amusing Twitter presence than as a Chelsea youngster, but he's got some promise and I'm glad the Blues are keeping him on. Next year is going to be a big deal for him -- he spent the first half of last season at Vitória de Guimarães in Portugal, but didn't get enough playing time to be kept there through January. A loan to the Eredivisie doesn't sound like the worst idea in the world. Maybe Vitesse would like to pick him up for a season or two?

Lalkovic isn't in the Tomas Kalas class of sexy prospects, but it'd still be pretty gratifying to see him succeed. Make it so, Mr. Emenalo.
