Highlights and goals from Chelsea U21's 5-1 preseason win away to Ilkeston FC

For the second time in the span of a week, Chelsea U21 took care of preseason opposition by a 5-1 scoreline. On Saturday, Colwyn Bay (managed by Frank Sinclair) was put to the sword; today, it was non-league Ilkeston FC's turn.

The boys spread the wealth around in this one; a veritable who's who of the brightest prospects in the system grabbing one each. John Swift, 18, opened the scoring; Ruben Loftus-Cheek, 17 and looking like the man amongst men, doubled Chelsea's lead from the penalty spot not much later. Second half goals from Ulises Davila 22, Alex Kiwomya, 17, and Lewis Baker, 18, completed the goal-fest. Swifty now has three goals in the last two matches and is tied with Kiwomya with five for most in the preseason. Isaiah Brown was seemingly once again deployed as a center forward.

A few hilarious misses and a terrible giveaway by Mitchell Beeney aside, it looks like the boys are ready to take the league and all their other competitions by storm.

Enjoy.
