So much for the prospect of Andre Schurrle getting some time to impress in Indonesia. Blues News are reporting that the new signing won't be able to play a part in today's match against the BNI Indonesia All-Stars, with Chelsea refusing to risk the winger even though the 'naggling injury' he's picked up sounds fairly minor. Also withheld is Frank Lampard, who, despite some hopeful noises from the Blues camp regarding his return to fitness, will miss his third straight game.
None of the injury problems Chelsea have picked up have been serious enough to cause concern apart from the Kevin de Bruyne one, and that turned out just fine, so this is nothing to worry about. It's just a little disappointing that Schurrle will have to sit the game out -- he needs as much time as possible as we warm up for the season, and with de Bruyne in England and both Juan Mata and Oscar still yet to link up with the squad, this was probably the match for him to impress in. That said, it's not a big deal either way unless you're in Indonesia and only going to this match because you're Andre Schurrle's biggest fan. In which case you are super interesting and I'm sorry.
