August 27th deadline for Bruma case

Mike Hewitt

Wondering what's going on in Bruma's weird contract dispute with Sporting Lisbon? Good, because there's been some news. A Bola are claiming that the Joint Arbitration Commision in charge of his case have a deadline of August 27th ruling to choose between Bruma's bid for free agency or Sporting's claim that he's under contract for next season.

A resolution could happen before then, of course. Sporting have already brought in attacking reinforcements via the loan of Seattle Sounders star Fredy Montero, and it's not out of the question that they cave on this quickly. If Bruma does become a free agent, it still sounds like Galatasaray have put in the biggest bid, but Chelsea seem like the club he wants to end up at and he's been spending some time at his brother Mesca's house recently -- relevant because Mesca's a former member of our academy. The plot thickens!

PS: It's kind of annoying that Bruma has the same name as former Chelsea player Jeffrey. You all knew that though.
