Kevin de Bruyne is heading back to London for further tests on his injury

The club appear to be playing things safe today, taking no risks and sending the youngster home

The low point of yesterday's friendly was definitely the injury to Kevin de Bruyne, although it didn't look to be too serious after he was seen on the sideline walking around under his own power. De Bruyne himself just gave us an update on his situation, and unfortunately means he's heading home to London:

Hopefully this is simply precautionary, but it's a bit worrying that the Blues have decided to send him back to London right now after initially deciding to let him remain on tour despite the injury. We'll all be eagerly awaiting the results of his MRI, which will likely take place at some point tomorrow.

Until we know more, there seems to be very little reason to speculate as to what this will do to the team. Potential injuries are the reason that depth is so important though, and luckily the Blues have plenty of other attacking options should the De Bruyne injury be serious. That said, I really hope his scans show nothing so that we can get back to watching him play very soon.
