Latest on Edinson Cavani: Reports from Italy indicate that Di Laurentiis will meet with Chelsea on Wednesday

It seems that both Chelsea and Napoli may ready to stop wasting each others' time with useless bids for below the buyout clause and may finally sit down to talk about things like reasonable business men.

Although he also brought news that Manchester City's bid of Dzeko + €40m was scuppered by Edin Dzeko himself, Palmeri may actually be behind the times here a bit. As several journalists and news outlets in Italy reported this morning:

Ciro Venerato, giornalista Rai ed esperto di calciomercato, è intervenuto alla trasmissione Number Two: "Mercoledì ci sarà ‘un vertice a Londra tra Chelsea e Napoli, dove sarà presente anche De Laurentiis.

-Source: Napoli Magazine

That is, there will be a meeting between the two teams and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is supposed to be attendance. I think it's safe to assume that he'll be talking about the Uruguayan striker and not just to pick Rafael Benitez's favorite spork that was accidentally left behind.

Here's another journalist:

Il presidente De Laurentiis è appena tornato dagli Stati Uniti ma mercoledì o giovedì andrà a Londra per cedere Cavani al Chelsea. Da quello che so, i Blues verseranno nelle casse azzurre circa 58milioni di euro più bonus.

-Raffaele Auriemma, Tutto Napoli

That is, De Laurentiis just came back from the United States but will go to London on Wednesday or Thursday to sell Cavani to Chelsea. This journalist then goes on to claim that Chelsea are ready to offer €58m + bonuses for El Matador.

So is Napoli willing to accept that deal even though it's technically still below the buyout clause (€63m)? Or are we still set on wasting everybody's time with these shenanigans?
