Chelsea under-21s to play in New York

Christopher Lee

It's not just the Chelsea seniors (and the couple of younger players who accompanied them) who are making their way to the United States this season. If you're an avid follower of the youth team who happens to be stateside, you'll have a chance to see the baby Blues in action in July, as the under-21s play two friendlies in New York City*. Although none of the opposition, venue or time have so far been announced, the dates have -- Saturday July 13th and Wednesday July 17th. Should be a fun time.

*The west coast gets screwed again; such is life.

The rest of the preseason slate for the under-21s and under-18s has been announced in full, and it included a mysterious "festival at White Hart Lane to be played behind closed doors" between August 8th and 10th for the under-18s a few days before the season starts. The rest of them (seven for the under-21s, four for the under-18s) will be open to the public, so if you get a chance, give them a watch this summer.
