It looks like the threat of the match being suspended isn't the only thing that might stop Oscar going up against his English clubmates on Sunday. Sky Sports Brazil correspondent Paolo Freitas just tweeted that he was forced to leave training early with an knock, sharing a photo of a rather unhappy-looking Oscar having his ankle iced on the touchline:

It's not clear how serious it is, but I think at this point minor injuries that keep him out of pointless friendlies could be considered a blessing in disguise. Oscar has been playing virtually nonstop since the beginning of the Crimean War (or thereabouts; didn't check the dates too closely) and looked fairly gas towards the close of last season. He needs a rest, and if he doesn't touch a football between now and preseason, I'd be completely ok with it.
Obviously, you hate to see players -- especially talented, young players who love playing for their country -- miss time, but if this gives him a chance to rest without causing any permanent problems, that would be pretty helpful. Dude needs a vacation
