We try to play a brand of football that fits in with the philosophy of the Academy and the club and when they get it right they are special to watch. I hope they get it right this evening and if they do they will produce something they will remember for the rest of their careers.
Chelsea U18 came away from a dominant Carrow Road performance on the losing end of a 1-0. A silly penalty conceded by Alex Davey and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, quite literally with the last action of the match, allowed the home side to steal it. But that's football for ya.
Fortunately, the FA Youth Cup final is a two-legged affair so Chelsea have 90 minutes to right all the wrongs and defend their title. There is no away goals rule in the FA Youth Cup, so if the scores are level, we play extra time and penalties, if needed.
The match kicks off at 45 minutes past the hour, so in about 40 minutes, and will be shown live on ChelseaTV and ITV 4. Over 17,000 fans are expected to be in attendance.
Chelsea U18 starting lineup (4-3-3):
Mitchell Beeney | Adam Nditi, Andreas Christensen, Alex Davey, Ola Aina | John Swift, Lewis Baker, Ruben Loftus-Cheek | Jeremie Boga, Islam Feruz, Alex Kiwomya
Substitutes from: Ben Killip, Kevin Wright, Dion Conroy, Charlie Colkett, Charly Musonda Jr.
Viveash makes three changes from the first leg: Nditi and Christensen are back from injury and replace Wright and Nathan Ake, respectively. The always fantastic John Swift gets the start in the midfield trio, which looks excellent and amazing, in place of the sporadically impressive Charlie Colkett.
Discuss.
