While the likes of Thibaut Courtois, Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku are making names for themselves out on loan, the Belgian trio aren't the only Chelsea prospects impressing these days. Nathaniel Chalobah was spent the year at Watford, and the 18-year-old midfielder has drawn plaudits from all corners for his displays in the Championship.
Now he's put some icing on the football cake with this phenomenal strike, his fifth goal of the season:
Or, if you like .gifs:
I wish I was a good enough writer to do this goal justice. All I'll say is that this is as good as it gets, and it's coming from a teenager competing against players much older than he is. Chalobah's had some fantastic moments (and this is surely the best of them) this season, but what really stands out about his game is his consistency. He's already playing at a level which suggests he'll be a star for Chelsea and England -- he might even be ready for serious first team action next year -- andthe scary part is that we can expect him to keep getting better.
Take a bow, son.
