Pfttt. Aguero apologizes to Luiz.

Nasty Aguero apologizes to Luiz.

Mike Hewitt

Following his horror challenge on David Luiz during Sunday's FA Cup semi-final which nearly left Luiz with only one but-cheek, Sergio Aguero took to Twitter today to apologise to Luiz:

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>I've contacted @<a href="https://twitter.com/davidluiz_4">davidluiz_4</a> and apologized for what happened during the match. It was an impulse reaction that shouldn't have happened.</p>&mdash; Sergio Aguero (@aguerosergiokun) <a href="https://twitter.com/aguerosergiokun/status/324267282631127040">April 16, 2013</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Luiz replied with the following (gosh he's such a nice guy):

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Thank you @<a href="https://twitter.com/aguerosergiokun">aguerosergiokun</a> for a demonstration of character. We get to know great man and athletes this way.</p>&mdash; David Luiz (@DavidLuiz_4) <a href="https://twitter.com/DavidLuiz_4/status/324287337397895169">April 16, 2013</a></blockquote>

<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Whilst it is good to see that Aguero is decent enough to apologize, the fact that he has admitted that he meant to hurt Luiz makes the FA's decision to not retrospectively punish him look even more pathetic. Whilst it is up to clubs to pressure the FA to change the rules, surely someone at the FA realises how silly their current system is and feels like something has to be done. I find it highly frustrating that the technology is there but it isn't being used but you can read more about that here.

I'll be glad to draw a line under that terrible day at Wembley and fully focus on Wednesday's game at Fulham. Following the draw between Arsenal and Everton, tomorrow is simply a must win game, no excuses.
