Chelsea academy product Ben Gordon to sign for Yeovil Town on Monday

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson's son played with Gordon at Killie, so the manager has certainly seen enough of the fullback to know what he's getting

Conor Clifford found a new home at Leicester City earlier this morning, and another of the six that Chelsea released at the close of the transfer window has latched on with an English club. Ben Gordon has spent the bulk of the past several years on loans with various degrees of success, but he's done enough to find a home at Yeovil Town.

Yeovil manager Gary Johnson had the following to say on the move for Gordon:

"People have to know that I have looked to bring in Ben Gordon, and he is joining is on Monday."

"We have got to start bringing in one or two. I don't want to start doing it at the last minute on deadline day when you can't sign anyone."

"He can play in central midfield as well. I have seen him quite a few times at Kilmarnock when I watched them in the Scottish Cup final and games likes that."

"He's a good player and not only that but a good character. That's what I have got to bring in so they can quickly mix with the characters and personalities in the changing room."

Yeovil currently sit fifth in League One, and a strong finish to the season could see them earn a spot in the promotion playoffs. Hopefully Gordon sees plenty of time on the pitch, as like Clifford, this will be a great opportunity to make a name for himself in English football.
